Manuel Menendez Gorozabel

Manuel Menendez Gorozabel (* Lima, 1793 - †ditto, May 2, 1847) was a Peruvian politician, who served as interim president multiple times for his country. Participated in the political struggles of theearly Republic and held various public offices.During the second government of Agustín Gamarra (1839-1841) was President of the Council of State(position equivalent to vice president) and as suchwas in charge temporarily of the Executive on three occasions. After the defeat and death of Gamarrain Bolivia remained in power until 1842, when he was overthrown by Gen. Juan Crisostomo Torrico, beginning the period known as the "military anarchy." After this stage, temporarily re-assumedpower from 1844 to 1845, Corresponding to transfer the command to General Ramon Castilla,the start of its first constitutional government.
